Last week my companion and I had the opportunity to go and serve a family in our area. We were working on their backyard with them. One of the members of the family has been considering going to the temple for a long time but has been very nervous about it. After much pondering and prayer she still hadn't come to a decision.
That time that we had to work in the garden allowed for us to simply chat with her about things that were important in her life and provide encouragement not only as missionaries but truly as her friends.
A couple weeks after we had the garden looking spectacular, she said that she felt that she really needed to go to the temple soon (when it opens back up).
Our purpose as missionaries is to help people to come closer to Christ and I am so grateful we were able to do that through simple service and loving friendship alongside our role to teach the gospel.
We can't wait for her to attend when the temple reopens.
